The standout print it appears this season is gingham. It is the quintessential summer fabric, which I am thrilled to wear because it can mix well with so many other prints. I added a few gingham items to my wardrobe this spring including this skirt and this skirt from Zara. I have been wearing them on repeat with everything. Below are a few looks I have been wearing. I found this kitschy cotton Monki top at ASOS, it looks good tucked in or out of the skirt and tied in the front as well. There is also a tunic dress and shorts in the same fun novelty print.
I also paired the gingham skirt with a floral print top I got at Anthropologie a year or two ago, similar here, here and here. I layered this cotton Jackie florida print sweater (which is now on sale with an additional 30% off with code HELLOSALE) from J.Crew over it as well. I also have been wearing this California destination T-shirt (also on sale) with the skirt, and layering it under the Monki novelty print top as well.
You could really build a nice capsule wardrobe based around a gingham skirt. I also have been wearing a vintage 50’s gingham dress which is perfect when the idea of print mixing seems overwhelming. Basically buy yourself something in a gingham print this season, you won’t be sorry trust me. Also wearing Crap Eyewear sunglasses (now on sale) vintage bangle bracelets, vintage necklaces, Salt Water sandals and Marc by Marc Jacobs heels (old).
