Spring is in the Flair

This Spring I am finding myself drawn to ruffles and fun prints in lightweight cotton fabrics.  I am tired of the overuse of cheap rayon and polyester by every ready to wear clothing manufacturer on the planet.   I am therefore so happy to see a refreshing amount of cotton poplin recently.  When the weather here in Southern California starts to feel like hades, I will be cool in my breathable cotton skirts and breezy blouses.  Also although I definitely appreciate minimalist design, I obviously (as you will come to see) prefer a good amount of flair.  I am ecstatic about all the design details that are in abundance this season, from the statement sleeve to the bold floral prints.  I styled this ruffled cotton skirt from J. Crew (which is now 30% off with code BIGSALE) with this floral print top from Zara.  The sunglasses are from CRAP eyewear, vintage fruit necklace, bangles and box bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs heels (old).  I love the ruffle sleeves on the blouse and the stripe and floral combination of mixed prints is so fun.  I also love all the box bags that are everywhere now such as this one, this one and this one.  I also styled this skirt with a vintage western ruffle blouse for a different look.
